Traveling with Pets

These pet-friendly hotels and activities will help you plan the perfect trip with your furry friend.

Places to Stay

Accommodations that welcome pets can be found in the STAY section of the Cabarrus County, NC Destination Guide. Just look for the listings marked with the “Pet-Friendly” amenity. Have a specific question? We recommend reaching out to hotels directly to clarify any details of their pet policy.

Places to Eat

Looking for the perfect patio? Check out our feature on where to dine outdoors in Cabarrus County.

Treat your pet, too! At Cabarrus Brewing Company, pick up a bag of Brew Bonz Spent Grain Dog Treats. The initiative benefits local animal rescue organizations. In downtown Kannapolis, Old Armor Brewing Company partners with neighboring Eat Cakes Bakery, which uses their spent grains to make dog treats. Eat Cakes also offers “pupcakes” and specialty birthday cakes for dogs.

Events & Activities

Many local trails and parks across Cabarrus County welcome pets to enjoy the outdoors. Open dawn to dusk, Weddington Road Bark Park features space for both small and large dogs to play and is within walking distance to several hotels in the Exit 49 area. Cabarrus County is also home to several segments of the Carolina Thread Trail, and this article links to more information including pet policies for each.

As part of their exciting promotional schedule, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers host select “Bark in the Park” nights when dogs are welcome to enjoy a night of fun at Atrium Health Ballpark. The City of Concord has also hosted a “Dogs’ Day Out Festival” with previous festivities including pet portrait character artists, a doggie fun zone for off-leash play, free puppuccinos, food and raffle baskets, music, and more.

Stay tuned to the Explore Cabarrus Events Calendar for a full list of events, and be sure to visit the location’s website or call for more information before bringing your four-legged friend along!
