Downtown Concord
Located at the intersection of high-performance living and historic charm, Downtown Concord features an urban lifestyle within the historic fabric of the center city. It is a goldmine of unique shopping, flavorful local cuisine, entertainment for all, and immersive performing and visual arts.
The centerpiece of downtown, the Historic Cabarrus County Courthouse is home of the Cabarrus Arts Council and offers visitors the chance to enjoy curated art galleries and live performances inside the intimate Davis Theatre.
The Union Street residential neighborhoods just north and south of Downtown Concord both qualify as Historic Districts on the National Register. The spectacular development of the Cabarrus textile industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries led to construction of many well-detailed residences. Today, Concord retains one of the largest and best collections of domestic architecture in North Carolina from this period.
