Dale Earnhardt Tribute Plaza

In the heart of Dale Earnhardt’s hometown of Kannapolis, this NASCAR legend’s life and career are celebrated at Dale Earnhardt Plaza. 

The centerpiece attraction is a 9-foot, 900-pound bronze statue of Earnhardt, and the plaza also features a granite monument contributed by fans from Vermont and New York. The plaza is filled with symbolic details including the seven steps descending into the plaza representing Earnhardt’s seven Cup championships, an oval layout representing a racetrack, benches in groups of three to represent Earnhardt’s car number and many more.
