For some, a little more adventure is in order when they’re on a trip — especially if their pet is along for the journey. If that’s you, you’re in luck. Cabarrus is home to several fun places to pitch a tent or park an RV — or maybe even hang out in a yurt.

  • Racing fans are well covered by the Camping World Racing Resort, located off I-85 at Exit 49. The Resort offers RV camping year-round that’s just a short walk from Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track, with hookups, amenities and shower facilities.
  • For select events, camping is also available on-site at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord. Bring your RV along and take advantage of the water, electricity and sewer connections, along with the convenient location right off Highway 49.
  • Apollo RV Park in Concord is a family-friendly, quiet RV camping site that’s great for weekend or longer vacations, with owners on-site. It’s also a great choice for those visiting the raceways, as it’s just a short walk from Charlotte Motor Speedway.
  • Glenwood Acres RV Park in Concord features an on-site gas station and convenience store along with everything an RV camper could need — plus, they’ve got trees and walking trails, with shaded and non-shaded spots.
  • Ver-El RV Park & Campground is located just across the street from the main ticket office of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and has been serving NASCAR fans since 1960. In addition to RVs, they have a limited number of tents and primitive camping sites for those who prefer a different kind of camping experience. Be sure to call ahead to reserve your spot.
