Aug 15 & Sep 19 | Charlotte Motor Speedway
Cars & Coffee Volunteer
Hosted in the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Zone, this free monthly cruise-in brings car owners and automotive enthusiasts together to showcase classic cars, custom builds and hot rods.
The Explore Cabarrus Fan Van will be on site to welcome visitors, answer questions and distribute Destination Guides to attendees.
Oct 3 | Downtown Concord
Concord International Festival Volunteer
Celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Cabarrus County, this annual festival in historic Downtown Concord features live ethnic performances, international foods, art vendors and cultural exhibits.
The Explore Cabarrus team and volunteers will staff a branded tent and table setup to share visitor resources and engage with community members.
Oct 9-11 | Charlotte Motor Speedway
Race Weekend Volunteer
As one of NASCAR’s marquee fall race weekends, Bank of America 400 weekend is a high-energy, multi-day event that draws thousands of motorsports fans from across the country to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.
The Explore Cabarrus Fan Van will maintain an active presence throughout the weekend to provide racegoers with travel recommendations, dining maps, and visitor assistance.

Touch-A-Truck Volunteer
Held in Concord on Halloween morning, this family-friendly event allows kids to explore heavy machinery, emergency vehicles, and tractors alongside festive trick-or-treating.
The Explore Cabarrus Fan Van will join the interactive vehicle lineup to distribute visitor information and offer trick-or-treat giveaways to young attendees.

Join us at the Cabarrus County Visitor Center to help greet guests and share details on all the wonderful things to see and do here. The Visitor Center is located at 10099 Weddington Rd, Suite 102 in Concord, NC 28027.
Dates/times vary from Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm

How do I sign up to volunteer?
Anyone who is at least 18 years of age may apply to volunteer with Explore Cabarrus by completing the registration form here. To sign up for a volunteer shift or learn more about an opportunity, please contact Visitor Services Manager Nick Dorney at NickDorney@ExploreCabarrus.com or 704-796-2537.
What do volunteers do?
Our volunteers contribute their time and skills to greet and assist guests at the Visitor Center or onsite at registration/information tables during local events such as races, festivals, group meetings, and more. While assignments vary, the majority of our volunteer opportunities involve welcoming visitors and showcasing our area. Volunteers may also provide support for other projects as needed including mailing projects or assembly of convention packets.
Where do volunteer activities take place?
Along with welcoming travelers, other special projects often take place at the Visitor Center located at 10099 Weddington Road, Suite 102 in Concord off I-85 at Exit 49. Event locations vary as the Cabarrus County CVB works with hospitality partners such as Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord Mills, Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, Embassy Suites, Great Wolf Lodge, and others. Opportunities may be located indoors or outside depending on the needs of the event.
How do volunteers find out about upcoming opportunities?
Opportunities will be posted on this webpage as they arise. After signing up to volunteer, you will be added to our volunteer list and will be notified via email about new and upcoming opportunities. Existing volunteers may also sign into the Explore Cabarrus volunteer portal.
