October brings fall color, cooler weather and of course—candy! With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to choose a costume, carve a pumpkin have a spooktacular time in Cabarrus County!

Pick a Pumpkin at Riverbend Farm – Now-End of October

Celebrating their 27th year as a pumpkin patch in 2018, Riverbend Farm in Midland grows between 20 to 25 acres of pumpkins each year. Bring your own picnic, then take a wagon ride to the pumpkin field and select which one you will take home. A playground, large slides, farm animals and plenty of autumn-themed photo opportunities make this the perfect fall pit stop for the family. Open Monday-Friday 3:30-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 1-6pm. Admission is $5.50 for ages 2+ and pumpkins are 40 cents per pound. For details, visit RiverbendFarm.net.

Spooky Seas Flashlight Tour at SEA LIFE – Fridays & Saturdays, Oct 12-27

Ever wondered what the aquarium looks like in the dark? This after hours event is the first ever guided flashlight tour through SEA LIFE Aquarium! Take your little mermaids and pirates to SEA LIFE Aquarium for Halloween activities featuring our friends under the sea. Kannapolis Fall Festival – Oct 20

Celebrate fall fun and fellowship in Kannapolis! Get dressed up in your costume and join in on games, treats, crafts and more fun at Village Park from 3-8:30pm. Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt – Oct 20

For some grown-up Halloween fun, bring a few friends to Red Hill Brewing Company and join in on the Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt from 4-8pm! The investigation starts at Red Hill and the clues continue throughout Downtown Concord businesses. Once you discover who did it, head back to the brewery to enjoy special seasonal beer releases.

Jack O’Lantern Jaunt Road Race and Fall Festival – Oct 27

Spend the Saturday before Halloween at Frank Liske Park! This festival features games, crafts, treats, and even a way to burn off those candy calories! Trade your get-up for running shoes and get going with the 18th running of the Jack O’Lantern Jaunt 5K at and Mile Fun Run/Walk. Mall-O-Ween at Concord Mills – Oct 27-31

On October 27, don’t miss the Boo Bash at the Dining Pavilion from 2-4pm! Wicked fun awaits with a DJ dance party, Halloween crafts and special appearances from Cabarrus County’s favorite mascots. Come in costume, because HalloVeen is also happening! This afternoon of spooky family fun based on Vampirina and Disney Junior pals will take place from 2-4pm near Charlotte Russe Outlet. Then, children 12 and under can enjoy mall-wide Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night from 6-8pm. Look for a pumpkin in the window of participating stores!

Trick or Treat in the Park – Oct 29

Head to Harrisburg Park with your little ghouls! From 5:30-9pm, everyone in your crew will enjoy games, trick-or-treating with local merchants, and costume contests (age categories 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 years). Be sure to bring $3 per child for all you can play.

Downtown Concord Candy Crawl – Oct 31

On Halloween, local merchants along Union Street provide trick-or-treating and family-friendly entertainment in Historic Downtown Concord. Get creative with your costumes and just stroll with your candy bucket! The fun starts at 3pm and ends at 5pm.
