Fresh Outdoor Fun
From the 10,000-square-foot splash pad to Rockin’ the Burg concerts, there are already a ton of reasons to visit Harrisburg Park this summer – Add a new 9-hole disc golf course to the list! Outdoor enthusiasts can also check out the latest addition to Concord’s network of trails, Afton Run Greenway. This ½-mile trail connects Dorton Park with local dining and shops at Afton Village.
Meet Beasley & Kacey
We’ve got some cool new fishy and furry friends in Cabarrus County! On June 8, SEA LIFE Aquarium shell-ebrated the Grand Opening of their new Turtle Rescue Center and welcomed Beasley, a rescued green sea turtle from North Carolina’s coast. Then, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers introduced their new bat dog—lab puppy, Kacey Betty. We can’t wait for you to meet them both!
New Chill Treats
Cool off with a cold treat from B&K, a new café in Downtown Concord serving up bubble and fruit teas and mochi ice cream. In Downtown Kannapolis, Tipsy Hare Ciderworks recently announced new flavors on their menu and added cider slushies (available in the perfect summer cups). Find more icy delights at Cabarrus Brewing which just debuted spirits-based frozen mixed drinks.
Music at the Market
Summer concerts are in full swing throughout Cabarrus County. In between performances at the area’s amphitheaters, catch live music at the Kannapolis Farmers Market! Visit the market at the corner of Vance Street and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard to stock up on fresh, seasonal food and enjoy sounds of summer with acoustic guitar, nagara drums and more on select evenings from 4-7pm.
